Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth is often called America’s second Independence Day—it marks June 19, 1865, the day the last enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This year marks the 160th anniversary, and Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing is hosting a full day of events to celebrate resilience, freedom, and Black history in historic LaVilla!
